VII INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION “MUSICA IN LANGA”, Castiglione Falletto (CN)

Art. 1 The 4face cultural association in collaboration with the Municipality of Castiglione Falletto (CN) organizes the seventh edition of the “Musica in Langa” International Competition which will take place at the Confraternity of Sant'Anna in via Cavour in Castiglione Falletto (CN) on 22 and 23 June 2024. The competition will take place IN PRESENCE.


Art. 2 The Competition aims to promote musical culture among young people by identifying and encouraging the artistic affirmation of emerging talents, encouraging comparison between musicians who, coming from the most diverse countries in the world, guarantee the territory an extraordinary cultural growth; contribute to disseminating, developing and increasing the study of music; make the area known with its artistic and food and wine peculiarities.

Art. 3 The Competition is divided into 2 sections:

1. SOLOISTS (piano - strings - wind instruments - guitar - harp)

2. CHAMBER MUSIC (any formation, including 4-hand piano, excluding the 2 pianos)

Article 4 Categories and programs (chosen by the candidate) with a maximum duration of:

1. SOLOISTS:

Cat. A up to 8 years. Max 6 minutes

Cat. B up to 10 years. Max 8 minutes

Cat. C up to 12 years. Max 10 minutes

Cat. D up to 15 years. Max 15 minutes

Cat. E up to 18 years. Max 18 minutes

Cat. F up to 21 years. Max 21 minutes

Cat. G up to 25 years. Two tests: Preliminary and Final

Eliminatory:

Candidates will have to perform an etude and a piece of their own choice. Maximum duration of the test: 15 minutes

The final:

Candidates will have to perform a free program lasting a maximum of 20 minutes (it is not possible to resubmit the program performed in the preliminary round).


2. CHAMBER MUSIC:

Cat. H up to 11 years. Max 5 minutes

Cat. I up to 15 years. Max 10 minutes

Cat. L up to 20 years. Max 15 minutes

Cat. M up to 25 years. Max 25 minutes

NB For section 2 the category to which you belong is determined by the member with the oldest age.

Art. 5 Performance from memory is not required. The rankings will be communicated to participants at the end of the category or entire section auditions. Competitors in each category must be present on the day and time set for the roll call. The execution will take place in alphabetical order. Latecomers may be admitted to the tests at the sole discretion of the Jury. Participants will have to provide their own musical instruments. The organization makes the piano and a music stand available to the competitors.

Art. 6 Each competitor can register for multiple sections, but for only one category of each section. Candidates may also enroll in categories higher than their own, if they believe their preparation allows it.

Art. 7 The jury, whose judgment is unquestionable, unappealable and definitive, will have the right to interrupt the auditions, have them repeated in part or in full or to call a further test and may reserve the right not to award prizes if the necessary requirements required. The opinions will be expressed by voting from 1 to 100.

Art. 8 The judging commission will be made up of well-known musicians. The Artistic Directors of the event are Prof. Anna Lisa Bio and Maestro Ciro Noto.

Art. 9 The members of the jury who have or have had, in the year preceding the start of the Competition, educational relationships with one or more competitors, will abstain from expressing their vote in reference to the competition's performance.

Art. 10 At the beginning of the audition, competitors must present an identification document and a photocopy of the pieces they will perform (the latter will remain on file and will not be returned).

Art. 11 Competitors will have to provide their own pianist accompanist but for those who do not have one, the organization will make its own pianist available at the price of €60.00 (for information write to 4face@4face.it or contact the secretariat at 3804185360 at least one month before the registration deadline)


Art. 12 Prizes and Special Prizes

At the end of all the performances, the Commission will decree the overall winner of the 7th edition of the Competition, choosing him at its sole discretion among all the participants in all categories. The winner will receive:

- Scholarship of €1000.00

- a concert at the Alba Music Festival offered by Maestro Giuseppe Nova

- a concert in Munich organized by Klavierstudio di S. Chillemi and T. Farinetti

- opening concert of the eighth edition of the competition (2025)

- diploma of Absolute Winner of the VII Edition of the International Competition "Musica in Langa"

To the second place (decided in the same way):

- Scholarship of €700.00

- diploma of merit as Second Place at the VII Edition of the “Musica in Langa” International Competition

Third place (decided in the same way):

- Scholarship of €300

- diploma of merit of Third Place at the VII Edition of the “Musica in Langa” International Competition

For all categories: Diploma of Merit and Medal (1st overall), Diploma of Merit and Medal (1st place), Diploma of Merit (from 2nd to 4th place)

To the teacher who has presented the greatest number of students among those awarded (sum of scores from first to fourth prize): right to take part in the commission of the eighth edition of the Competition (2025).

Art. 13 Participation fees (membership card and expense contribution)

Soloists:

Cat. ABC: €50.00

Cat. DEF: €60.00

Cat. G: €80.00

Chamber Music and Piano 4 hands:

Cat: HIL: €45.00 per member

Cat. M: €55.00 per member


Art. 14 Registration methods:

Registration must be done online at the following address www.musicainlanga.it/associazioneconcorso

Payment of participation fees can be made by bank transfer to the current account in the name of: Associazione 4face - IBAN code IT41V 07601 01000 001029930888 (reason: NAME, SURNAME & CATEGORY) The deadline for registering for the competition is 06/17/2024 . The Association reserves the right to cancel the entire Competition or some categories if it does not deem the number of participants to be adequate. In this case the registration fees will be refunded.

Art. 15 Travel and accommodation costs are the responsibility of the participants. The 4FACE Association is not responsible for any accidents that may occur to people and/or things during the journey and for the entire duration of the Competition.

Art. 16 No compensation may be requested for any audio/video recordings and the participants (parents in the case of minors) by registering for the Competition hereby grant full authorization for any publication of the same on channels, sites internet or any type of mass media at the discretion of the 4face Association. Competitors will only be able to record their own test by requesting authorization from the secretariat before the competition takes place.

Art. 17 Registration for the Competition entails full and unconditional acceptance of this announcement as well as any changes made by the Organizing Body during the course of the competition aimed at making improvements to the event.

Art. 18 Pursuant to current legislation on the "Protection of personal data", the 4face Association informs that the data provided at the time of registration will be stored and used exclusively for the purpose of sending communications relating to the competition and that the data owner has right to know, update, delete and rectify your data or oppose their use.

Art. 19 The in-person tests will be held in full compliance with current health regulations. Competitors will receive precise instructions from the Organization on the details of the tests well in advance. In the event of a dispute, the only valid regulation is the one drawn up in Italian.
